New Shop

I hope everyone had a beautiful March and a fantastic Easter weekend. My daughter had surgery last week at Shriners in Portland and I am more than ever dedicated to providing donations to this fantastic organization. As I've been selling my bags on Facebook and through my fabric shop on Etsy throughout March, I really felt the need to transition to a storefront solely for my bags. I didn't really feel that they fit in my fabric shop on Etsy and I hate the thought of having to start with zero feedback in another Etsy shop, so I opened a shop with BigCartel: http://soundsew.bigcartel.com/. Some New Bag News

I've got two great specials going on with my Piped & Pleated Bag series for March.

The red bag is still $50 and a that includes a $20 donation to Shriners Hospital in Portland.

The green bag is now $50 and for the month of March, includes a $20 to United Cerebral Palsy for Cerebral Palsy Awareness month.

I don't have the red bag currently listed in the my shop, but it will be next week. If you want it, please feel free to order the green bag but put RED BAG in the notes to seller when you check out. OR, just shoot me an email at soundsew@gmail.com and I can send you a PayPal invoice via your email.

I'm also now offering weighted blankets. For a 34"x34" size, the cost is $35; for a 34"x44" size, the cost is $45 and for a 44"x54" size, the cost is $55. Weights can range anywhere from 2 to 6 pounds.

Weighted Blanket

A lovely 5-lb blanket that I recently collaborated with a friend on making for her son. There is lots of material about the benefits of weighted blankets for kids with autism, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorder, and other medical issues out there on the web. Lulu used one as a small toddler and really benefited from it.

Green with Envy & Baby Blue

Another one of my Piped & Pleated bags. This one is a gorgeous kelly spring green with a piped and lined interior pocket. This bag has evolved so much since I made the one I carry that I get jealous every time I make one of these and ship them off to somebody else. I love the pops of color on the inside. This bag is perfect for Spring, which is hopefully just around the corner. We have gorgeous blue skies today, so here is to hoping for Spring!

I made this baby blanket for a good friend's daughter (only half a year too late for her birthday and a year and half too late for her birthday!). I love applique and applaud the use of it whenever I can.

Up to no Good

Meet my Piped & Pleated bag. This is the bag that I made for myself. This is the bag that replaced the gorgeous bag my husband bought for me three Christmases ago. This is the bag that started all of the bags below (and more).

This bright pink and black bag was sewn for my neighbor and it matches perfectly her sass and energy. Always bubbly and energetic, she loved the black and pops of pink.

I've saved the best for last. My mom asked me to make her one of the bags and I used that opportunity to finalize the process and pattern. It turned out beautiful and I'm finding it hard to give up.

I mean seriously, look at the pocket. I adore it.

I have a kelly green bag in the works for a good friend and I have a feeling that that particular bag will also be hard to part with. Is it bad that I love each bag I sew? I think not!
